With a seven-game winning streak, the Lakers have won 9 of their last 10 games.
On the other hand, two consecutive losses for the Houston Rockets have dropped them to the fifth seed in the same Western Conference table. With 41 wins and 27 losses, the Houston Rockets have a 60.3% winning percentage, which is not good enough to qualify for the NBA playoffs. The Rockets may have been a successful team, but over the last 10 games, they have lost 5, and the ones they won were close victories.

The Lakers conquer the first half yet again.
After losing 92-100 on March 17, 2026, Houston fans expected a great comeback from the home team. As the match started, both teams were looking strong. The Lakers' major point of difference was the legendary LeBron James, who had 18 points and 2 rebounds in the first half. On the other side, Amen Thompson was leading the home side with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Despite a strong attack, it is the Lakers' defense that is helping them dominate opponents.

Within the first five minutes of the third quarter, the Rockets got their lead for the first time in the match. After a tug-of-war for a few minutes, the third quarter ended with the Rockets leading the game by 92-89.
The three-point lead is never enough in NBA matches, especially when you are facing a team like the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers equalized within the first few seconds of the fourth quarter and led the game within the first two minutes. The last eight minutes of the game were highly dynamic, with both teams counterattacking and levelling the scores. In the last five minutes, Houston took a two-point lead, but could not keep it for long. Eventually, the buzzer buzzed, and the Rockets lost to the Lakers by 116-124.

With their ninth victory in their tenth game, the Lakers kept their position strong in the Western Conference table. For the Houston Rockets, Alperen Sengun was the game changer with 27 points and 10 assists, while Amen Thompson's 11 rebounds saved the day.
