After a massive win against the Denver Nuggets, the New York Knicks are on a two-game losing streak. In a close encounter against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Knicks lost by 118-126 at the Intuit Dome, Inglewood, California. Despite a promising performance by Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, and Jalen Brunson, the Knicks could not win this "on the road" match.

Moving forward, the New York Knicks have the best chance to clinch a playoff spot. With 41 wins and 25 losses, they are at the third spot in the Eastern Conference table, and likely one to three wins away from mathematically securing a top-6 seed and avoiding the Play-In Tournament. This also makes them one of the strongest teams in the league.

On the other hand, the Los Angeles Clippers are in a do-or-die situation to avoid the Play-In Tournament. With a winning percentage (pct) of 0.500, the Clippers are in eighth place with 32 wins and 32 losses. To guarantee a spot in the NBA playoffs, they will likely need to win at least 11 to 13 of their remaining 18 games, which is approximately over 60%.

However, they can stay in the Top 10 and secure a Play-In spot. With a 9-game lead over the 11th-seeded Memphis Grizzlies, winning only 5 or 7 games can help them clinch a Play-In berth. With their win against the Knicks, they are on a winning streak of two out of two matches.
