Not only did Jordan win the gold medal, but he also delivered a once-in-a-lifetime performance, clocking a ferocious 1:06.28 and breaking the Olympic record of 1:07.18, which had stood untouched since 2002. Finally, he won his first Olympic medal, which won’t be the last one.

All good things take time, but not always. Four years ago in Beijing, Jordan was the youngest member of the USA team at the 2022 Winter Olympics. With pure grit, determination, and consistency, the young boy climbed the Olympic ladder quickly and delivered an astonishing performance in long-track speed skating.
The crowd was thrilled as the USA claimed its first gold in the men’s 1000 m speed skating event since 2010, ending a long drought in that distance. It was a power-packed event with explosive energy and an electric crowd. Initially, Jenning de Boo from the Netherlands had a strong showing, but Jordan’s endurance and technical precision helped him make a comeback and win by 0.50 seconds.

What is Jordan Stolz’s strategy for the future?
A great coach can help you become what seems impossible. While appreciating the players, we often underestimate the criticality of coaches and mentors who build such athletes. Legendary coach Bob Corby returned from retirement to train Stolz, and their partnership is already yielding historic success.
Corby believes that if Stolz keeps high-volume strength and stamina, he can maintain a high velocity while keeping a low, aerodynamic posture. With this “skating economy,” he can minimize air resistance, giving him a vital edge during the final turns of a race.
Stolz is looking ahead to the next big events, the 500 m, 1,500 m, and mass start, later in the Games. Fans would expect another podium finish from Jordan Stolz and would take the medal tally even higher. Stolz would be an inspiration to other speed skaters, and with these mesmerizing performances, he is here to stay.
